Ok guys I come to the realization that I will never build my 1600. So looks like everything is up for sale.

Now, I would like to know what you think my shell is worth. I have a figure in my head that will be the minimum I will let it go for.

Datsun 1600 1972 Rolling shell.
Painted HOK Candy Brandy wine. Has been key'd on the roof and both 1/4's So
basically I think it needs a whole respray, Or if you didnt want show finish, MAYBE it could be touched up with a touch up pen or nail polish.

Body is dead straight and does not need any work for a respray other then a light rub back.
The shell has a custom gearbox tunnel to suit a auto and would need a small hole cut into it for a manual.

Radiator support has been cut out to suit a plazma man intercooler, Intercooler may be supplied with the shell.

If I do sell it it comes with EVERY part that I have laying around. And I will expect ALL the parts to be taken other wise they will be binned.

Off my head there is 4 doors, Door skinns are f8cked but you will need the glass out of them. 4 brand new in the box chrome door handles, 3 grills 1 chrome, 2 bonnet strips, 2 lower chrome stripps, unsure if I have the guard strips, headlight surrounds, etc. there is a fair bit of small things.

So whats your opinion? Looking for genuine opinions only.

Would you believe me when I say no..
In the 7 years that I have had it I have never taken any pics of it. Its been in storage for 7 years and has 7 years worth of dust sitting on it.

I'll try and grab a couple pics tomorrow of the damaged paint. but I cant get any of the body as its stored in a garage that is only just big enuff to hold it so you cant walk down the side to get pics and there is no light in there. If I get some real interest in it I will have it taken out and washed and buffed.

This is the only pic I have of it. you get a idea of the colour.

Gaz,
I'm at about the same stage as you, can't find anyone reliable enough to work on the car (paint and panel), so i wonder why i bother. So i built a rally car, it bored me. I built a fairly quick 180sx, it bored me and i'm now flogging it off.
Come out and drive my 16 and see if you can rediscover the love (PJ was the last person to drive it in january or so i think), if not sell up and finish your house.

It is a shame, but 2 years ago I had a little bit of hope but now dont have nothing.
I have been living on borrowed money for a fair while even the silvia was bought with home loan money. Now with my wages and morgages I dont ever have anything thing left at the end of the week.

Here is the pics of the paint damage. The roof if fairly bad. 1/4s are bad but could be touched up I think to look good.

You can see in the pics the amount of dust the is sitting on the body.
Under good light you can see its a nice candy red ans when there is no light its dark burgendy almost black.

Certainly was a low act. Thats jealousy for ya. $10,000 worth of paint destroyed.
As I said before I think the 1/4s can be touched up. would be a little bodgy but wouldn't stand out. As for the roof, needs to be re-sprayed or bodged up. No one see's the roff unless your standing over it.

Odnt have any pics of whats cat away, But its the same cooler as this. Front will bolt up the same as this 1600

if the bodywork is spot on, i think you could get at least 5 grand for it. scratched paint is nothing compared to a rooted/rusty body, which most 1600's have. good shells are hard to find.
