Been trying to get this done for some time now with limited success.

Finally we have something to show.
This is part of our Rad/ intercooler kit for SR1600s

Pictured is the pre production proto.
More pics to follow in the next few days.
some basic specs

Rad core 520x400x35 cross flow.
inbuilt expansion chamber.
Top cover integrated in rad.
fully rubber mounted.
Slips in with fan fitted.
fully stealth & plenty of clearance.

IC is 450x300x76

The lower mounting combines rad & IC support.

The fan is a Spal 16" 1600CFM.

My radiator manufacturer has just tested this fan.
They have some top testing gear at their shop.
This was the first spal he had tested & was blown away with
the performance.
His favourite 16" thermo ( well known brand) flowed 1100cfm sucking thro the core.
The spal flowed a full 1600cfm thro the core.
He is now changing brand.

We will be supplying these rads as kits complete with new top SR engine outlets & radiator hoses. the kit will also include the IC mountings.

Full kit will be Rad/IC & all hoses and fittings needed to do a full install.

My only question - is there any chance for air to get trapped in the top of the core?

looks good , but when are the FJ one's being made

Lower mounting bracket for both rad & IC. Can be attached to the frame
with 6mm stainless cap screws. The thick section of the frame rail is
sufficient to tap the thread & get a secure fixture.










Lower mount for Rad & IC is attached to the frame rails with 6mm cap screws. The frame is thick enough at this point to tap a secure thread.









Following pic shows the in built tube for the overflow container.
This prevents air locks in the rad.





Added this pic as its the first time i have seen bronze inserts in IC mounts.
Strange for a generic IC to be this quality.

I can understand why you asked this as the angle of the pic looks like the filler is too low.
Both the filler & the expansion tank are above the top tube of the Rad.
Pic above post shows the expansion tank tube which its inlet is at the top of the Rad end tank. The tube then goes to the bottom of the expansion section so as not to allow air into the Rad.

Pricing has not been finalised as we will be offering this setup in various combinations.
We are now making custom top outlets for S13/S14 which will allow the std turb water pipe to fit as original.

Ten are being made in the first batch.
6 left at the moment.

Cant find anyone in SA to visit the local marina & grab one

will these kits come with an already modified outlet pipe from the head, behind the CAS, or will that be an exchange basis item, or do it yourself?

Kits looks to be really top notch as per expected, what modifications are needed to the front radiator panel when it comes to intercooler piping, will any need to be chopped out?

Kits will come with a new outlet.

Rad support will need to be modified as per any 450x300 IC.

i expected something like that

looks awesome baz, i wish i had got one of these before fitting a PWR radiator. This looks much neater.

Would there be any dramas if we were to chop off the top pipe and move it to other side to use with CA? otherwise looks like theres enough room to run a crossover pipe anyway.

Two ways to do it.
Without spliting the tanks etc. a 90 fitting and the Xover pipe attached to the under side of the top shroud would work.

Also made a few mods to the rad as we have plenty of room on the LH side now.
The turb outlet & the cast elbow made this possible

We will be using all black silicon hose. the sight of that blue is turning me
yellow.

Full kit will be
rad assy as pictured with 16" spal fan,lever type pressure cap, top cover attached, thermo fan switch, wired up.
Rad IC mounting frame, rad & IC rubber cotton reel mountings.
IC with cast elbows .
cylinder head water outlet & rad hoses with clamps.
Alloy polished IC piping, including turb outlet,silicon hoses,Black or spew blue your choice.
Stainless T clamps, plumb back noise reducer (BOV)fitted.
Stainless cap screws,nuts etc & a 6mm tap for cutting the theads to mount the plate. full instructions inc template, tho its very easy to fit.
Rad & IC assy can be removed in less than 3mins without removing the grill once installed.
So a fully complete rad & IC setup down to the last nut & bolt needed for a DIY quick & painles install.
Price TBA but definately less than 2K inc GST for complete assy.
