Hi all,

Just after a few tips and/or ideas for my 1600. I bought it October last year from an old man who did it up with his son in the 80's. The engine bay caught fire, so they resprayed in a red mica, retrimmed the inside including boot and all, sat the original motor back in but never got it going again. Still has the 1996 rego sticker on the windscreen, been garaged since, and the dust certainly proved that!!!
Lucky for me they had so many parts with it, 5 big storage tubs full of parts, plus multiple grills, bumpers, and lights!!

I soon after bought a front cut off an S14 200sx. Its only got 70,000 on the clock and hasnt had any mods done to it.

Have been buying a few bits and pieces lately, just new tail lights and grills and just the little things that make it look the part.

Just waiting on some more money to finally get it in the shop to get the SR fitted. I'm going with the Datsport fitting kits and what not, but was wondering if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions to make things easier or any upgrades you think i should consider.

At the end of the day I am after a really neat and tidy car that I can take for a spin on the weekend, that will also go hard, but not looking to rally it or anything like that. Just something to be proud of and enjoy!

Thanks

Having the datsport kit will make bolting it up simple.

The next issue would then be the wiring, to make this as simple as connecting a few wires that are already labelled would be to use PLMS looms, he redoes the standard wiring loom to be a plug in job for a 1600, can also have the ECU retuned in realtime to suit - well worth it

Depends on how much you want to do yourself or are willing to pay other people, but the fitting kit and wiring would be the two things i'd buy when it comes to getting an SR running in a 1600

other things like exhaust is straight foward, will need a larger hole in rear crossmember - again datsport for a fully adjustable crossmember or do it yourself, fuel system will require new feed/return lines and a fuel setup in the boot with surge tank and fuel pumps, intercooler/radiator setup - datsport are putting their finishing touches on a full kit, or again custom make what you think will suffice

Thanks, I have been talking to Datsport a bit and was planning on using there setup. I getting it put in by Mick at Pizzi Automotive on the Gold Coast, he is a local Datsun guru and does one hell of a neat job. I've got some pictures of the car so far I'll try and get up soon too!

Any one know what a brand new SSS grille is worth?

Just put two and two together and realised who you are, or at least your car haha, I remember seeing it at micks place a good couple years ago getting rewired or something, and from memory Mick was pretty agitated with it.

But yeah cant wait for the SR should be a hoot!
