Hey,

I was wondering how I can mount intercooler behind the grille of a 1971 Datsun 1600 with a blacktop 180SX SR20DET. Currently running a stocker radiator, but I am going to get an aluminium one with twin thermos. I can get it custom made, so if anyone knows the sizes of an intercooler/radiator that will work, including room for thermo fans, that would be great!

Also some pics and modifications I need to make to get it all fitting? Also, is it illegal to cut the rad support?

Ah I see, can I get the dimensions of the radiator? And I'm assuming it's the stock radiator opening, but you've just cut out sections of the surrounding metal for the pipework? Or is this not the case?

rad core is 400x400x80 and yep that cut out is standard. The only cuts are for the cooler and in hindsight even they could of been smaller.

Ok thanks, and have you actually fitted the SR20DET, to make sure it clears?

P.S I sent a PM your way, in case you didn't notice it =)

Oh ahhh, also. Are you sure that's the core size of the radiator? Or at least the core size thickness. I can only get a 56mm thick, triple core, using the fabricator I use.

Is it possible to get the overall dimensions, also?

So, I'm guessing you don't know the overall dimensions of your radiator and cooler, GTR510?

Its more like I don't care, rather then I don't know. End result is the same though. HTH
