!SSS610! 6 years? Wow have you been working on it or has it just been sitting there?
  2. Anth's 1969 Datsun 1600 Fj20et

Anth I don't mind it most probably because im used to the steering, but i'll have to check another Datto like you said. I found tightening up the steering box to remove a touch of the slop, but not a fix. I might look into having some of the gears inside the box changed so I could have quicker steering. Let me know if you have any luck with the rack and pinion idea. Cheers

Hey mate the car looks great and I really enjoy the way you've put these pieces together. I'm interested in your feedback on the new steering box you purchased from Datsport and would like to know what sort of improvements you noticed once it was installed? The steering box is the only thing on my 1600 that i didn't rebuild and although it all looked tight after I pulled it apart, its still sloppier than a $2 "adult masseuse" with 10 kids. You can grab the wheel and flick it left to right about an inch or so before you start to feel any resistance. After owning about 5 1600's in my time I've grown used to this feel and beginning to accept the fact they are all like that. Any comments would be great. Cheers Will
  4. !datsun Sr1600!

Hi This is the first time i've seen this post and im sure everyone who has read this thread is keen to see more. Nice job so far mate. How did you go with the top section of the s13 seat? I'm fitting an S15 seat at the moment and it looks like i will have to add foam to the sides of the top section to increase the width of the seat. I think this is the best way to go otherwise the seat belts will fall in the gap between the seat and body. Also have you cut down the height of the top section? Cheers

  6. S14 Sr20Det Revs Dropping...help

Might have to try it, cheers
  7. S14 Sr20Det Revs Dropping...help

Thanks Jeff i'm in adelaide but thanks for the offer. Its in the shed at the moment so i wont be driving it for a little while otherwise i'd post a vid. I'm installing an S15 rear seat at the moment, its a little narrow on the edges of the seat so i may have to add some foam to fill it out a little. Is that what you did on your original SX-510? It looked like you had a sunny coupe rear seat in it and i know they are a little narrower than the stock 1600 ones.
  8. Hiding Away Or Non Existent

Is it just me or am I the only one who owns a Datsun 1600 or any neat Datto's in adelaide. Got to say its been ages since I seen a 1600 on the street around here. I live in the northern suburbs and i know the cops can be asses down here but i'm guessing its very similar down south. I'll admit i don't get mine out as often as i would like and am currently fitting an S15 rear seat so i can cruise it a little more (used to have a half cage) but seriously reply to this post if you have a Datto in the shed and let me know why you don't drive it as often as you would like.
  9. S14 Sr20Det Revs Dropping...help

The BOV is a Monza SSQ, I made a fitting and plumbed it back in the hopes it was going to fix my problem but it had no effect. I had Peter Leibig tune my stock S14 ECU with a piggy back unit making it fully programmable. He did a great job with the tune but i didn't have enough coin to keep him there to pursue the dropping idle problem. The lean out condition was on idle and we seen the A/F ratios hover around 16. My thought was a manifold leak but i cant find one. Any idea on how i can test the speed sensor input to the ECU? The air fuel ratio was up
  10. S14 Sr20Det Revs Dropping...help

Hey guys When I drive along at any speed then slow down by taking my foot off the accelerator the revs drop until it almost stalls and then it pics back up again. It ran lean off idle on the dyno so I'm thinking of a manifold leak. So while it was running I sprayed around the inlet manifold and piping with start ya bastard to check for vacuum leaks but I got no change in idle speed and can't find a leak. Has anyone had this issue before? Any help would be great Cheers Willy
  11. SX-510 SR20DET 510 1800SSS Bluebird Coupe

I'll have to take mine out and check it out thanks for the advise
  12. SX-510 SR20DET 510 1800SSS Bluebird Coupe

Thanks Jeff, Good luck for the nats i wish i was able to come. I've heard about an adjustment that can be done on the master side of the brake booster. The push rod adjustment? Have you had to do this and would you know the correct length it should be protruding from the booster?
  13. SX-510 SR20DET 510 1800SSS Bluebird Coupe

Hey Jeff I remember back when i was a wee lad i seen the SX-510 plates rockin the 1600 in the fast fours dvd...then also the first time i seen your coupe in Phillip Island. You were turning right at the round a bout in cowes and i was behind you in the NicoVisions van...all i seen was Big Red Nissan 4 pots and how close they were to the spokes on your rims looked awesome. Nice work! I've got a question about your brake booster and master. Have you used a 180b small can and 7/8th master before? If so how much better is your current booster and master setup? eg pedal effort etc? Any help would be great and top work with the datto!!!
