Hi Guys, I thought this topic was very relevant in the old forums as I used it regularly to speak to people on first name basis.

Im Garry 27 from sydney. Im a tradesman printer. I have owned 6 1600's with verist engine combo's Z18T, FJ20T, SR20T as well as 1 1200 ute. I still currently own 1 1600 that i started building back in 2000 with a full house FJ20T, But that car is now a Phantom as it lives in storage and has not had a cent spent on it for 4 years or 5 minutes work time on it.

I think all members should have a small wright up in this topic about who they are and what they do. This includes FLYBY as it is a good reference for new members who every one is and who not to talk back to.

Sounds like a good idea

Derek 26 "Systems Specialist" (I.T.) from Brisbane.

I have owned only one other Datto other than my beloved 1600 (GUN 16) and that was a little red 1200 ute with an A14.

I have been working on my car for about 18 months now with lots of high's and low's in between.

In my spare time I run the Qld Performance Datsun Club http://www.qpdc.info which is really starting to grow.

Peter, 30 something

I work for the National Archives of Australia

I also do some freelance photography

I got into Datsuns after seeing a friends 1600 embarrass V8's on the street (old lansvale days)

Bought my first 1600 in 1991 and within 3 weeks had a Z-18turbo. Sold the car about a year later. Was planning to do a VP ex chaser at the time but luckily finances fell through and then found another 1600 stock to do up and fit it with a FJ20ET aka TUF510

Eventually i would like to do a 2 door 510 with similar specs and have both

missed the last one so here it is...

Peter, 29, IT "Specialist" from Western Sydney - but not too west

My current 1600 was my very first car bought back in 1995 - for a pricey sum of $400.

It got painted gunmetal grey and had a L20 with twin Webers. Second time around was a full rebuild with SR20DET.

The latest mod done to the car was putting in a complete R200/CV rearend, and plans are underway for a bigger GT30xx turbo.

Dave Wilson from Newcastle, IT Systems Engineer

Celebrated my second 21st last year

First car was a 1600, second car was a 1600, 4th car was a 180B SSS (still got all three).

Current project is my 180B SSS, which is being fully restored inside and out. It will be fitted with its original L18, which will benefit from the addition of fuel injection and an Eaton M45 supercharger . I'm still removing rust , but have gradually acquired most parts to finish the project.

Current Datsun "ride" is my track 1600, which sees duty at hillclimbs, motorkhanas and occasional track day. It uns an SU-fed L18, but is getting quicker due to gradual suspension and brake mods. Its fun to drive as it handles really well, but could definitely do with more power.

My original 1600 is stored away in the shed, and suffers from pretty severe rust. Its turn will come one day as I can't imagine selling it now after 26 years of owning it.

My "special subject" is L-series motors, which is why my 180B SSS will be powered by my version of the ultimate L18.

Craig Green born of August 1986

I'm a box packer/slave for a company you might know as Woolworths. Currently seeking more employment.

I also play drums in a band but lack of a working car recently has halted any progress.

I am also drum "tech" for a friends hardcore band.

Live in Western Sydney between Penrith and Eastern Creek.

I own a 1968 1600 which was my first car and has been slowly getting upgraded. Currently running an L18 carby turbo drawthrough setup, that is still in the process of being made to work correctly.

Also have a 1971 1600 thats in the process of a full ground up rebuild with many mods, plans to be one of Australia's sweetest street 1600's.

Cars i have owned are a series 5 RX7 and a CA18DET powered Nissan Gazelle.

I adore music and enjoy long walks on beaches under starry skies.

Chris Taylor, 17, born and bred in Wagga Wagga NSW (ie. The middle of nowhere ).

Im still at school doin year 12. HSC sucks, but hey, ill need it to be an engineer...right?

I work at Caltex Northend stockin shelves, servin people... oh and of course, pumpin gas

My one and only project i have ever done is a 1971 Datsun 1600 with an SR20DE, due to the new (or not so any more) no turbo law. Plans are to keep it simple, keep it on the road, but have fun in it at the same time.

After the HSC is over, im moving to wollongong and studying Mechanical Engineering, so keep your eyes on the lookout for a turquoise blue datto with the plates DAT16.

I hate cutting corners, so basically i live by: do it once, do it right.

No dodgy shite here....

Chris

Hello everyone, I'm Julian Caddell, and i'm a Datsunaholic. I'm 28 and live in the Lower Blue Mountains (Penrith) area, and for a crust I work for an automotive workshop selling parts via the phone, internet, and in the showroom. I have been a member of Datnet for 3 years and was here during the reign of the beloved 'Freestyler'.

I have previously owned a Stanza, a 200B SSS, and a 1200 sedan. I currently have two 180B sedan's, 1975 model registered and used as occasional rally hack and for flogging around the neighbourhood, and a 1977 model project that is getting pulled apart to have an SR20 turbo stuffed in to it. My daily driver is a 1996 Nissan 200SX.

I've been to a few Datsun cruises and events (Loggy for beers), and attended a few Nationals. Look forward to meeting more of you in the future and sharing the love of Datsun's.

Scott A, almost 30

Went straight into the defence force after school, 4 trips to Timor and 10 years later I discharged to see what the outside world is like. Did a bit of personal training, truck driving and tiling for living and now I'm going back to the defence as I've decided the outside world isn't what it was cracked up to be

Going back in shortly as a plant operator and going to do some study (never to old ) and transfer over to aircraft tech. After getting buckets of money thrown at me overseas I wasted it on a wrx only to run mid 11's, after seeing fivetens car at summernats I realised I probably could have dropped the same amount on something like that and got more enjoyment out of it so now the project 1200 ute begins, no rush to get it done, just bit at a time.

Thanks for reading

Peter, 28 from Ipswich Qld.

I work as a teacher and have been doing so for the past 7 years.

My first Datsun was a orange 1200 coupe I aquired 10 years ago for the sum of $100. It was sold to a mate and is now in the process of being built into an 9sec drag car. Had many datsuns over the years from a 120Y wagon, to an SR20DET 180B, Fj20 1600 etc etc. My current car is my beloved 200B SSS coupe which I have had since 01, and has undergone numerous changes. At the moment it is running an S13 SR20DE, full DR30 rear including R200 LSD, CV shafts and disc rear. Up front it runs 180B struts and Verada/Commodore combo. I have an S14 motor sitting in the garage awaiting install, as well as upgrading the front and rear end to HR31 items, with R33 4 spots and twin spots. Also may be giving it a full respray.

In my spare time (what is that??) I play guitar in a local Brisbane band Tan Tan Tanukihttp://www.myspace.com/tantantanuki, I'm an official at Willowbank Raceway, try to get in a bit of sport in the way of touch footy, and also try my best at being the president of the QPDC. When I get round to it I'll put up a thread about the 200B.
