Thoughts on what is being dubbed the 'New Datsun 1600' concept...
hi there im slowly (key word being slowly) buliding a 1200 sedan with a sr20det just like to post build pics and the fun im having with it i've started the build already so i'll get you up to speed
I was looking for a good rwd 4cyl car to build as a project something along the lines of a datsun gemini or rolla and i found a lil white datsun at a welding place in my home town it was a bit run down didnt look like it has moved in a long time then i seen it up on ebay so i thought why not have a bid then as normaly happens my bidding finger got away from me and i picked it up for $580
so that day i got the boys to tow it home the bloke i got it off was sad to see it go to some young guys but i told him it was in good hands
i found a bit of history on the car i'm it's 3 rd owner the first owner drove it from new then it sat in the shed since 1983 the 2nd owner got the car after the poor lady pasted away then sold it to me
after some long hard thinking about what motor i was going to use (being an ex commodore driver) my thoughts was a V8 but then started looking at SR20 datsuns so i shoped around and picked up a SR20DET from a 180sx ex drift car from ebay for $150 (bargin i hope)
so the project was under way
How many 2 door 510's have made it into this country? Dont be soft now put a pic of yours up in the condiction its in right now..
Street machine- Show car- Ratrod- Resto- Stocko- Nostalgic photo as the rust settels in your back yard-
Start counting........ ( i recon 3 - 4 ppl with 2 drs will post )
Most ppl that want one ( majority of 4dr owners ) dont have one and i sure would love to vote and pic Australia's best 2 door.
Voted by the people..

This car I purchased as a completed project, in my opinion it was built just how I wanted, with just a few mechanical let downs which I have now fixed or in the process of.
The car is a 1970 Datsun 1600 with a Nissan FJ20ET.
The motor is standard except for a GT30 600HP BB turbo with external wastegate plumbed back into the 3 1/2" to 3" mandrel exhaust. The motor is cooled by a nice big custom radiator made by Mr Enforcer and a Davies Craig Electric Water Pump.
The ECU is currently a WOLF3D.
Bilstein/Eibach Coilovers with Mazda 4 Spot Calipers.
R180 Torsen LSD with Custom CV Shafts.
The paint/body & custom retrim were done on the original build back in Late 90's early 2000.
