Fly By's Datsun 1600 Fj20Et

Recommended Posts

This car I purchased as a completed project, in my opinion it was built just how I wanted, with just a few mechanical let downs which I have now fixed or in the process of.

The car is a 1970 Datsun 1600 with a Nissan FJ20ET.

The motor is standard except for a GT30 600HP BB turbo with external wastegate plumbed back into the 3 1/2" to 3" mandrel exhaust. The motor is cooled by a nice big custom radiator made by Mr Enforcer and a Davies Craig Electric Water Pump.

The ECU is currently a WOLF3D.

Bilstein/Eibach Coilovers with Mazda 4 Spot Calipers.

R180 Torsen LSD with Custom CV Shafts.

The paint/body & custom retrim were done on the original build back in Late 90's early 2000.

Sweet.. Nice and clean.. What's the output?

Don't actually know yet, about 300rwhp.

I'm going to get it over to Uni-group to confirm this, and take a look at this 'safe tune' it apparently has.

Sounds like an overly safe tune for a GT30BB Maybe the previous tuner had powerophobia?? LOL..

hehe.. that's a bad one, but what boost is dialled in Jon?

Runs about 18 pound at the moment. I'm not sure if that HP was at the boost, but assuming so.

Damn, I would have expected more hp on that kind of boost.. I got 280whp with 15psi on a T28, that's with a borderline safe tune though, and hgh octane fuel..

This is a HOT car. Well done on the buy Jon.

You say your doing a R180LSD rear, Wondering why you wouldn't use a R200?

Thanks mate.

I don't see any need to. The Torsen LSD will cope with anything I will ever give it, and the theory is these CV shafts will also last.

The R200 in my opinion is only unwanted weight.
