RB25DET 260C

174 posts in this topic

Bought my 260C about 2 1/2 years ago as a 1 owner stocker with only a few parking dents and no rust.

First mod i did was have air bag suspension fitted as the whole idea of this car is to build it as a cruiser and as much as i like sheep i didnt wanna be one and drive a 1600

Next after the bags was the 19" wheels which fitted with only a 20mm bolt-on spacer on the front to clear the hubs and rolling the front guards.

Also fitted a pair of recaro front seats then pulled the car off the road soon after the 2005 Goulburn Nats for the RB25DET+Auto conversion.

Most of the hard work has been done with the engine conversion where i made new engine and gearbox mounts from scratch and a new sump (started with a Patrol Diesel sump) which is currently being cadmium coated.

Heres a few pics from my previous thread and ill update as i (slowly) make progress.

Its lifted about 1" here

Oil and water lines for the hi-mount turbo are being sorted this week then once theyre done the motor should be ready to go back in and i can start shoving everything else back into the engine bay.

I saw your car at Nationals in Goulburn, and loved the airbags. Very impressive and definately something different. Looking forward to some engine bay pictures.

Yeah, I saw it at the Goulburn Nats and have always said it was one hEk TiK mobile.....on the hektisity rating, it would be around the 7.5 to 8.0...hahhahaha, but looking at around the 9.5 to 10.0 once the RB is in and running....

Red is a fast colour..

Id rather leave it brown than paint it red

Minor update: Got my Earls fittings today for turbo water and oil lines. $220 for 7 fittings and a metre of -3 hose

Still waiting for the sump to be cadmium coated, was sposed to take a week but has turned into 3

Also making the bracket to remount the wastegate actuator

Once thats done the engine should be going in for good

Got them from Austrack Motorsports in Min_o, only coz its near my work.

Get back to work and my boss tells me he can get Earls fittings for half price

Anyway cant find the right adaptor for the water lines (M18 thread) so i got a -6 weld-on fitting and 2 bolts which cost me $15 each then going to drill the bolt and weld the fittings on. Pain in the ass but its gotta be done.

Also cant find the right adaptor for the oil feed so i have to cut and weld 2 fittings together

Should have that done by the end of the week

at first i thought, the other side?? then i thought wouldnt it be at the lowest point of the sump to drain all the shit out and not leave much in there.. but the bottom looks entirely flat with a wicked folding job . so where the hell is it? haha
